Office of the Information Commissioner

Also known as: OIC, Information Commissioner

The Office of the Information Commissioner (OIC) is the independent statutory body responsible for overseeing and enforcing the Data Protection Act 2020 in Jamaica. The OIC investigates complaints from data subjects, conducts audits, issues guidance, and has powers to impose sanctions on controllers and processors that breach the Act. Data controllers may be required to register with the OIC depending on their size and activities.
