International transfer
Also known as: cross-border transfer, transfer
An international transfer occurs when personal data is sent to, accessed from, or otherwise processed in a country or territory outside Jamaica. The DPA 2020 restricts such transfers to countries that provide an adequate level of protection, or where appropriate safeguards are in place, such as standard contractual clauses. Controllers must disclose international transfers in their privacy notice.
